What happens when you mix a big heart, a small classroom, and a whole lot of curiosity? You get a microschool — and we just launched one!
Since 2018, Community Literacy Lab has been providing tutoring, workshops, and literacy resources to students and families across the U.S. and Canada. We’ve built a strong foundation focused on equitable, high-impact education for over 1,100 children and adult learners.
Now, we’re growing that mission with something brand new: a full-time microschool!
🏫 Wait, What’s a Microschool?
Think of it like a modern one-room schoolhouse. Small group sizes. Individual attention. A flexible curriculum. And the freedom to dive deep into what matters: literacy, problem-solving, creativity, and confidence.
We focus on real skills, real relationships, and real results. From reading and writing with Orton-Gillingham and IEW to math quests, science experiments, and financial literacy, our days are packed with learning that sticks.
🚀 Why We Started This
Too many students were falling through the cracks of traditional systems—especially those with learning differences, military families, homeschoolers, or kids who just needed a different path. Our microschool gives them a place to shine.
We wanted a school where kids can be kids… and learners, and leaders, and explorers, and artists, and inventors.
📚 What Makes Us Different?
Small class sizes (like… really small)
Research-backed programs (but still fun)
Personalized support
Real-world skills woven into every subject
Passionate educators who see your child as more than a test score
💙 Our Mission Continues
While our microschool is new, our mission remains the same: to make high-quality, accessible education available to all. We’re still offering tutoring, family workshops, and community learning events—just like we’ve done since 2018.
Whether your child needs one-on-one support, group classes, or a full-day learning experience, we’re here to help them grow.
🪐 Come Learn With Us
We’re not just teaching lessons—we’re building a community of learners who are ready to think big, ask questions, and grow into their best selves. If that sounds like a good fit for your family, come say hi!
Our doors are open, the books are stacked, and the adventure has just begun.📍Visit us near the Sumter Mall at 455 Rast Street or explore more at https://literacylab.net.
