Microschool Paths

Learners are responsible for completing assignments and coursework missed due to absences, late arrivals, or early departures. Learners may enroll in up to three classes per path, with course selections made at the beginning of each semester. Families are encouraged to choose courses carefully, as schedules, staffing, and instructional planning are based on semester enrollment commitments.

The Social Discovery Lounge (SDL) is available to enrolled learners at no additional cost. SDL provides a supervised space for independent study, reading, creative projects, social interaction, and personal enrichment. The lounge is open on school days from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and may be used during scheduled SDL periods or as designated by staff.

A non-refundable $120 Portfolio & Software Fee is due at enrollment each school year for each Microschool learner .

This fee includes:

  • One educational software license per learner

  • Access to digital learning resources and instructional tools

  • Portfolio development and maintenance

  • Progress monitoring and record keeping

  • Access to online learning platforms used throughout the school year

Tuition is billed separately and is based on the number of classes selected each semester.

Community Literacy Lab has a limited number of software licenses available each year. Families are encouraged to enroll early to reserve their learner's space and secure access to program resources.

Each enrolled learner is eligible for one software license through the annual Portfolio & Software Fee. Additional software licenses may be purchased for $40 per license, subject to availability. Additional licenses will only be offered after all enrolled families have had the opportunity to receive their initial license. Availability of additional licenses is not guaranteed and will depend on remaining inventory and program capacity.

Tuition

Tuition is $140 per month per Path for the first five Paths.

For learners taking 7–8 Paths, tuition is reduced to $40 per Path.

Each Path meets two days per week in either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday morning or afternoon block.

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month.

Late fees:

  • 5% late fee assessed on the 6th

  • 10% late fee assessed on the 15th

Early Drop-Offs & Late Pick-Ups

Community Literacy Lab does not routinely offer early drop-off or late pick-up services.

Early drop-offs and late pick-ups may be available on a limited basis only when staff coverage is available. The fee is $10 per 30-minute period, per learner or the cost of the Social Discovery Lounge if open.

Families must receive approval in advance. Availability is not guaranteed and depends on staffing and scheduled activities.

Fee Schedule if SDL is closed.

  • Up to 30 minutes early or late: $10

  • 31–60 minutes early or late: $20

Repeated late pick-ups without prior approval may result in additional fees or loss of early/late care privileges.

Payment Methods

We invoice families through our electronic billing system. Payments can be made via Education Scholarship Trust Fund Program (ESTF) Class wallet or directly on the invoice via debit card, credit card, or cash. We do offer sibling, military and first responder discounts. Students may withdraw at any time; however, the Portfolio and software fee and tuition for the current month are non-refundable.
