Ms. Rita Cheek is an Art and English teacher, and author of The Dolls' Christmas Party and Emily's Bad Hair Day. Rita claimed she wrote and illustrated her first novel when she was only eight years old. The only proof of that statement is Rita's excellent memory. Rita's secret to her storytelling skills is her ability to connect with her inner child. She has worked and played with children of all ages in every educational setting, including teaching in public, private, home, and online schools. Rita home educated her five spirited children while living in the country and draws on those experiences for her writing. With her decades of involvement with children, Rita has firsthand knowledge of what children love and shows in her work. Her best endorsement comes from the hundreds of children she has entertained with her stories throughout her lifetime. Rita feels passionate about bringing joy into parenting by providing true stories that can be enjoyed together. Rita and her patient husband, Randy, live in Plano, TX, and cherish every crazy moment they are blessed to spend with their ten glorious and brilliant grandchildren.
