2022-2023 Tutoring Scholarship Program

Funding for this program is provided by Community Literacy Lab (CLL). A charitable organization, Community Literacy Lab, was established in Sumter, South Carolina. The focus of Community Literacy Lab is to offer high-quality, flexible, and personalized educational experiences for each student and professional.

Submit application by September 15, 2022. If scholarships remain after the application deadline, Community Literacy Lab will extend the submission period and continue to accept and review applications until all scholarships are awarded.

Program Details

Community Literacy Lab will award 80 Pre-K through 12th grade students with full and part scholarships to cover online tutorial hours (each valued between $200-$500) for the 2022/2023 School Year. $20,000 funds are allocated for the 2022/2023 school year.

Students will work one-on-one or in a small group with an experienced educator who will implement virtual tutoring sessions. Subjects range from Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies using standards that have not yet been mastered. The scholarship can also be used for English as a Second Language, Spanish, or Study Skills.

Sessions will be most beneficial to students needing remediation after COVID-19 remote school learning and those who often find it challenging to grasp concepts in a larger group setting.
